As one of the rare waterfront hotels in San Francisco, Hotel Zephyr’s character is brought to life by turning the maritime narrative on its head through the use of unexpected materials like recycled cargo containers and upcycled nautical items. The design intent is to capture the spirit of the rough and rowdy sailors and infuse it with thematic elements that inject a sense of discovery and wonder into the Zephyr guest experience.
